Capture of metadata and job details at source is a vital feature for organisations receiving files into their DAM (Digital Asset Management) systems, as moving metadata management further downstream is a well-known and costly problem facing many organisations today.
PrintSure comes with a job ticketing mechanism, which allows collection of details with every submission through a form, which the user fills out at the time of sending the file to the server, and embedding of the information inside the PDF files. The fields contained in the form are defined by the PrintSure administrator, so exactly the information that is required can be collected. Fields of types such as text, date, check box and drop-down selection can be defined. PrintSure also can add system fields, such as current date and time, the name of the file, the workflow and the profile used to the form automatically, for easier tracking.
As many forms as required can be defined which can be linked to workflows independently, providing great flexibility. The collected form data is stored within the PDF and also in a separate file, for subsequent processing in industry-standard XML format. |
